Testing Push Notifications:
Open the app & log in with your user account or details provided. Ensure you see the notification reading “Subscribe to Push Notifications” and accept it affirmatively.
You should immediately receive a test notification. This notification should:
Make a sound
Vibrate
Appear either as a banner across the top of the screen or as a notification icon on the top of the screen (either is fine).
Confirm notifications are received when using the phone
Click the 3 lines in the top left corner of the screen and open the side panel. Scroll down and under "Your Account" and click into "Notifications".
From here you will have a list of any devices logged in with your details. If no devices are shown, you should be able to click "Please click here to try to enable push notifications" and follow the steps above to enable them.
If you can see devices with notifications, select 'Test' and then 'Send Immediately' this will trigger a notification that:
Makes a sound
Vibrates the phone
Appears as a banner across the top of the screen or as a notification icon on the top of the screen.
Test notifications are received on the lock screen
Please now select the 'Send in 10 seconds' option, lock the phone so the screen goes black and wait.
After 10-15s the screen should light up and show a notification and vibrate.
Test notifications are received after phones have been idle for a while:
Please now select the 'Send in 15 minutes' option, lock the phone so the screen goes black and wait.
After 15 mins the screen should light up and show a notification and vibrate.
Note: It is important that all three tests are successful. If the notifications do not appear, make a sound or vibrate either when the phone is:
In use, or
on the lock screen, or
when the phone has been idle for a while
Then settings on your phone will need changing. Please contact your Manager or IT department and they can contact Ally’s Support team for assistance.
