Please note: All replacement devices will automatically connect to your WiFi network as we have programmed them with your WiFi details.
Step 1: Remove the Old Device
First unplug the device.
As standard we fix the device to the wall using 3M Command Strips. To remove the device you need to grab the bottom edge of the device and peel it up and away from the wall as per the picture.
This will leave on the wall, two velcro command strips. These do not need to be taken off and can be left in place for the new device.
Step 2: Install the New Device
First make a note of the alpha numeric ID code on the label of the back of the device. This replacement device would have to be added to the room in the app (See Step 4).
Simply push the velcro strips on the back of the product onto the ones on the wall. If trunking was used, please put the cable inside the trunking. Then plug the new device into the power socket and turn it on.
Step 3: Confirm Receipt of The Device In the App
First, log into the app and click the “Residents” tab, found on the left side bar.
Please then click “I Received This” to confirm the new device(s) have been received. This would allow the new device to be listed in the App.
Step 4: Check The Device Has Connected to WiFi
Click the “Devices” tab, found on the left side bar. Search for the ID code of your device, its status should say “Online” on the right.
Note: The status will take up to 5 minutes to update. If the device does not come online you can either follow the troubleshooting guidelines or contact Ally Support on [email protected]
Step 5: Link The New Devices To The Room In The App
To complete the installation of the replacement device you now need to unlink the old device from the residents room and link the new one.
You can do this via the “Rooms” tab in just the three steps outlined below.
A. Remove the Old Device
First click “Edit” next to the room. Then click “Remove” to unlink the old device.
Step 2 - Pair the New Device
Then click “Pair Device” where the old device ID was. This will give you a pop up with the option to pick the new device ID. Please select this and click “Confirm”.
Step 3 - “Update” to Complete the Linking
Finally click “Update”, you must do this to confirm the replacement.
