Ally Overview Section:
This section provides a general overview of Ally App set-up for the care home:
How many residents are in Ally and are assigned to a room in the App.
How many residents are in Ally and NOT assigned to a room.
How many residents are in Ally where their consent has not been set (This is the 'Enable Activity Monitoring' setting for each resident in Ally).
How many residents have been added to Ally this week.
How many residents have been removed from Ally this week.
As a general practice, Home managers should regularly add new residents, and update old residents when needed.
Residents Insights for the week:
This section summarises where Ally is making a positive impact for your residents and highlights if any resident should be checked in Ally because either they have more active sleep than normal or if their scheduled checks could be reduced.
The total number of Ally activity alerts for the week, where staff responded and provided care when they had checked on the resident.
The number of residents whose frequency of scheduled rounds has been reduced, and therefore reducing the risk of being disturbed.
The number of residents who had more than 3 active nights sleep during the week (The residents can be found towards the top of the Morning Handover screen.)
The number of residents who had no Active nights sleep during the week, where Ally monitoring is enabled. (These residents can be found towards the bottom of the Morning Handover Screen.) Managers should regularly update residents’ settings if needed based on:
If a resident’s care need has changed
A resident has become a fall risk
A resident has had a health incident prompting more or less time based rounds
Staff Use
The Staff Use table summarises the staff usage from the weeks Daily summary emails, to help managers spot any trends or anomalies. You can see more detail for a staff member for a particular night in the daily Report Email.
Ally not monitored: Shows how many residents, who are registered and in a room in the Ally App and setting 'Enable Activity Monitoring' is selected, the monitoring was not activated for that night.
Av. monitor duration: Duration of app usage per night per resident is defined as the duration between the scheduler being activated and deactivated. This metric is then aggregated for all residents each night to get average monitoring duration for that night and gives a general idea of how long a resident is monitored on a daily basis. If this number is low, Home managers should advise the staff to monitor residents for longer periods.
No. Staff Logged in : The number of staff who logged into Ally during the shift.
Average response time: Response time is defined as the time between the staff receiving a notification for an alert and the staff acting on the alert . Each staff daily average is then calculated (as reported in the Daily summary Email); and then finally the average response time across all staff members is taken for each night.
Average Number of Devices Offline > 30 mins: a device is reported to be offline during the shift if the device has been offline for at least 30 minutes during the night shift. Only devices in rooms where the resident setting 'Enable Activity Monitoring' is selected are included.
High number of activity alerts physically checked where no care was needed : this is where the number of alerts that the staff member decided to check on a resident but no care was needed at the time of the physical check was at least 50% of their responses to activity alerts (not including dismissals).
High number of unscheduled checks where no care was needed : An unscheduled check is where a staff member has checked on a resident without being prompted by Ally. A high number is where at least 50% of unscheduled checks resulted in no care being provided at the time.
Devices offline for at least 30 minutes > 2 nights : This shows how many devices are offline for more than 2 nights during the week. Please note that this only includes devices in rooms where setting 'Enable Activity Monitoring' is selected.
Insufficient Ally App Usage:
If the Ally App usage does not meet minimum-use criteria, “Insufficient Ally App Usage” email is sent instead of the summary email. Insufficient usage is defined as:
Weekly: More than 50% of residents registered on Ally, for whom 'Enable Activity Monitoring' is selected, are not monitored for 4 or more days.
It is essential that managers take action when this happens and encourage staff to use Ally daily for all registered residents.
